Q: How are digital home movies, slides or photos Transfer orders placed?

Orders needs to be numbered in the order they are to appear. Please also let us know the title you would like for the disc, album and title screen. Two lines up to 35 characters each.

Q: Can a mix of movie film, prints, 35mm slides or videotape be included in the same order?
A: No, each media type must be put into a separate Digital Transfer Services order. Combining different types of media in the same order is not available at this time.

Q: Should movie film, 35mm slides and prints be transferred in a preferred sequence?
A: Yes, please clearly label  film reels, slide boxes and prints. Slides should be boxed in viewing order.

Q: What titles do I get included?
A: You get two lines of text. 35 characters per line including spaces. Please do not use the following characters,  "/*\&^{}][<>@%~`

Q: Where do the titles go?
A: The first line of text will be displayed on the cover's front and spine, disc face and title screen of your disc. The second line of text will be only displayed on the cover's face and disc face. Not the spine or titles screen.

Q: How do I number the order I want?
A: Customer should manually number the reels, slides or prints in a clear, identifiable sequence with a permanent pen/marker. Examples:

Film Reels - place the sequence number on the reel.
Slides - slides should be boxed in viewing order and boxes numbered.
Prints - place the sequence number on the back of the photograph in pencil. If photos are hard to number in pencil please use a sticker or Post-It note first. Ink tends to bleed through on photos. Use at your own risk!

Q: Will the original videotape, movies, 35mm slides or prints be returned?
A: Yes, the original videotape, movies, 35mm slides or prints (and their containers) will be returned with the completed DVD, CD or VHS order. Smaller movie reels will be transferred onto larger 7 inch, 400 foot reels and returned to you that way.

Q: When and how do I pay for my order?
A: When your project is completely finished. You may pay by Cash, money order, Master Card or Visa.  If you wish to use a personal check, you must pay in advance. Returned Checks will incur a $35 fee and the balance will then be due by cash or certified funds only. Project estimates over $200 will require a 1/2 deposit.

Q: What extra charges should be expected?
A: There are no extra charges for normal service. A $20 set up fee and $.14 per foot of film includes everything for up to 1600 feet of film onto DVD or VHS! There are no hidden charges for splicing, lubricating, film repairing, cleaning, titles, chapters or music backgrounds. There may be a nominal repair charge for broken or damaged videotapes submitted. There is an extra $20 charge for, "Sound Movies" for actual audio on film if it is sound movie film. There may be $10 fee if you are mixing up various film types, 8mm, Super8, 16mm. MiniDV and DVCAM tapes are also available for an extra fee. Of course, shipping and handling will be added unless orders are picked up.

Q: Can I use my own music for the background music?
A: No. We use background music which has been properly licensed to reproduce in this manner. Copy protected music is not used. No outside music is accepted at this time.

Q: What products can be made from old movie film, 35mm slides or prints?
A: DVDs, CDs, VHS, MiniDV & DVCAM tapes.

Q: Exactly what can be transferred?
A:

1. 8mm movie film, Super 8, or 16mm.  There is an extra $20 charge for, "Sound Movies" or actual audio.
2. 35mm slides. Only 35mm sized slides at this time.
3. Prints, from minimum size of 2"x2" to maximum size of 8"x12"

Q: What type of transfers are available in the base DVD, CD and VHS price?
A: - Film to DVD/CD/VHS (8mm, Super8, 16mm)
- Slides to DVD/CD/VHS
- Prints to DVD/CD/VHS

The $20 set up fee includes background music, choice of title, splicing, cleaning, and choice of output at no additional charge!

Q: What is the maximum movie length, or quantity, that can be transferred to one DVD, CD or Videotape?
A: - Film to DVD/CD/VHS (8mm, Super8) - 1600 feet
- Film to DVD/CD/VHS (16mm) - 3200 feet
- Slides to DVD/CD/VHS - 300 slides
- Prints to DVD/CD/VHS - 300 prints

Any order quantity larger than these sizes will automatically be split into smaller sizes for you  to fit on your desired media.

Q: Is the DVD from slides or prints viewable on a PC? Can prints be made from it?
A: Yes. A DVD created from slides or prints comes with a DVD slide show that can be viewed on a DVD player, and includes archive-quality high resolution JPEGs (up to 4.7 megapixels) that can be viewed and printed on a PC.

Q: Can I transfer Copyrighted material?
A: No, The digital transfer services are available for home videotapes, movies, 35mm slides or prints made by the customer. If the customer does not own the copyright, it is illegal to make copies and the orders will be returned unprocessed. The $20 set up fee will still be due before your order is returned. A copyright release form may be used when supplied by the Copyright holder and must be included in the order envelope or box in order to make a DVD, a CD or VHS tape from protected content. Additionally, videotapes, movies, 35mm slides or prints of obscene or illegal material will not be converted. Shipping and set up fees will still be owed.
