You must not only preserve the moment on videotape but also protect the tape! Store it upright, not on it's side, Keep it away from heat and humidity. Keep it in it's case. Videotapes can fade or breakdown over time. This process is greatly accelerated by not taking proper care of them. The process can be slowed, but not stopped.
